What is an electronic cigarette?

The electronic cigarette, otherwise known as the e-cigarette, is an innovative and revolutionary new device that can change the way people view smoking. Composed of just three parts - the atomizer, the battery and the moutchpiece or cartridge - the e-cigarette is powered up with a wall, USB, or car charger and emits vapor rather than smoke. It is absent the thousands of chemicals, toxins, carcinogens, and cancer-causing agents typically found in traditional tobacco cigarettes, making the e-cigarette the safer choice to alternative smoking!

Are electronic cigarettes safer?

We can tell you it is a smarter choice! The smoke of a traditional tobacco cigarette contains over 4,000 chemicals, and approximately 69 of them are actually acknowledged to cause cancer.

On the other hand, the e-cigarette liquid solution contains but 10 to 20 ingredients, depending on the manufacturer and the model. Furthermore, you won't have to worry about ashes or the putrid smell of cigarette smoke.

Can I quit smoking with e cigarettes?

The FDA has not approved the e cigarette as a smoking cessation product.

What is e liquid and how will it help me?

E Liquid is what produces the vapor that looks and acts like smoke when "smoking" an electronic cigarette. You can place about 3-4 drops in an empty blank or used cartridge, and you have just refilled the cartridge and are now good for many more puffs.

It is made of 3 basic products for the most part: nicotine, water and propylene glycol. Everyone knows what water is, so no need to explain that one. Propylene glycol is a common ingredient that is found in thousands of foods in your supermarket, one of which is cake mix. It is also found on the FDA GRAS list (GRAS = generally recognized as safe).  Nicotine is the third main ingredient, and it is found in tobacco cigarettes at almost 10 times the amount of what you find in 7 "puffs" from an electronic cigarette. The average smoker takes 7 puffs from a tobacco cigarette while smoking. So even with "high" nicotine, you are getting less nicotine, yet getting the same effect because it is in water vapor rather than a burnt substance.

E Liquid will save you loads of money by refilling your own cartridges and cut the cost of using your e cigarette in half from the cost of buying cartridges in packs of 5 as we and other stores sell them.

What is a cartridge used for?

The cartridge contains the liquid solution that turns into the vapor. The liquid solution can come in a variety of flavors and various nicotine strengths, including no nicotine.

The lifespan of a cartridge varies among the different brands because of several factors: e-cigarette size, atomizer size, how the user takes draws, how often the e cigarette is used, etc. The amount of cigarette equivalents you get from each cartridge varies so much from each individual because of these factors, so there really is no set number. Even our own staff have different experiences with the amount of draws they are able to get from a cartridge.

An atomizer?

An atomizer is the heating element of the e-cigarette that heats up the e-liquid and turns it into vapor. The vapor is then inhaled and then exhaled.

You will eventually need to replace your atomizer, and its life depends on how often you use your e-cigarette. A clear indication to replace your atomizer is when you notice that the flavor given off by the e-liquid seems less full or less satisfying.

To extend the life of your atomizer, make sure you have enough e-liquid in the refill cartridge every time you use it. Allowing the cartridge to dry out will cause the atomizer to overheat, greatly reducing its lifespan.

A battery?

The battery powers up your e-cigarette so that you can use it in the first place. The life of a single battery depends on each manufacturer and model, but a good quality battery usually runs for as good as 200-300 charges. Assuming you smoke a traditional pack of cigarettes once a day, you should expect to go through about 3-4 batteries per year.

If the e cigarette emits no smoke, then what is that I see? 

It is vapor, and it evaporates into the air within seconds. Unlike traditional cigarettes, the vapor is odorless and will not cause you, your clothing, or your home to smell like an ashtray.

Where can I use my e cigarette? 

Anywhere! Because the e-cigarette isn't actually burning and producing a toxic smoke, it poses no risk to anyone around you, so puff away!
